Something strange to discuss

Guys I have some question for you all , to see what you all think about it.

Many bands have come to south america to perform, but something is different about GNR, at least in terms of the promotion they had here in this tour. All the bands that came here, you see all the posters, this posters are a pic of the band with the logo of them, for example:  areosmith is set to perform this month , the posters you see around the city are the logo of areosmith and a band pic.  Same happend with metallica when they were here, the posters were pics of the four members with the M logo in the center,  same happend with kiss, same happend other bands.  But with GNR ,the posters  they put on,  had just the new Logo of GNR.  MY question is this:  why the dont make a poster with all the members of the band with the new GNR logo, and promote that out there, is it beacuse people can see is not the old band, so they wont go to the concerts? or maybe cause this is a temporary band with no near future for this current line up, or maybe is because they are no band members just guys they play just a year or two, so there´s no promotion of posters together?  or maybe is cause they are to many .....but at least I would put the names.....

Think about it.... what you think?

A) They're not sure if the guys in the band today will be there tomorrow

B) They don't want people knowing its not the old band.

Unless you get on the net or really look into it people really wouldn't know this band has changed or whos in it.

That kind of sucks but whatever.

I mentioned something like this a while back but the new way this band runs, and the way Nu fans seem to like it is that the members of this band are like Burger King workers. They work for a brand and can be replaced anytime so as long as Axl is up front.

Whatever though. Hope they solidify something soon.

I think the only fans GnR has left are the hardcore ones here (online), and those who still have AFD and still picture Axl n Slash tearing it up. Hard to play them both..

Prob the same reason we havent had a promo picture of the band or any band pictures in CD just editted live pictures.Kinda sad

Your wondering is fair, perhaps they prefer spend money for other things . Maybe Axl will answer that  they prefer promote simply without tv show, pics in magazine or things like that(other way of how slash promote his album!! ).
Himself know the answer if they're is one !

Exactly.
It would be pretty costly to draw up posters and flyers with certain band members - and then have to redo them again every time a member leaves or another one joins.  I'm not trying to be coy - but there have been a lot of band lineup changes since the "new" GNR started.

Also, I think there's  merit in the second point - about letting people think it's the original ineup to sell tickets.  I won't get into the whole "GNR-name" debate here, but there's a good business reason Axl kept the GNR name.

I think it's got something to do with this:
No promotion, no videos, no official merchandize, no tv appearances, no dvds, no books, no nothing. Something's fucked up. That's how it's been going with GN'R since the beginning of the new era. So this is no news to me. If they don't start doing things like this properly, it's gonna be like this all the time.

You would have to be living in a cave on mars to not know gnr is different than the slash days. Nobody knows why things are the way they are, but pessimistic trolling is a good way to rationalize...

There is a world outside of the united states, and they seem to take pretty well to whatever version of GNR is on tour. The UYI tours were missing 40% of the bands songwriters, so you can have your apples back.

While nothing is ever good enough for you, I learn to accept things the way they are and not question things that have no effect on me whatsoever. There is mygnr and dozens of other sites that are not chinesedemocracy.com. Why come here and feed negativity? The name of the site makes it pretty clear what people are here to enjoy. You and the other 9 trolls here seem to live in a fantasy world where everyone either hates gnr or thinks they are a joke because there is no Slash. I will continue to go to whatever shows I can, and they will most likely have more than just internet diehards in attendance.

When I go see Roger Water perform the Wall in October, I am not going to bitch that Gilmore or the rest of Floyd is not in attendance. What would be the point?

How is Axl letting people think its the original lineup, whatsoever? He has been very clear about his relationship with Slash and his utter hatred for whatever Slash has done through the media. Also Slash is  pretty up front in the media about Axls hatred for him as well, and has dispelled any and every possible reunion scenario that has come up.

This whole Chinese Democracy world tour, DJ Ashba is the new guitarist on the website, is that what you consider Axl tricking the fans into seeing the show based on the fallacy that Slash and Duff will be onstage?

I would think if there was some conspiracy to trick the fans the promoters would leave the words Chinese Democracy out of the tour title.

I think this pretty much sums up why.
I honestly don't believe that even Axl himself views these guys as a "band". These endless Chinese Democracy tours are just a way for Axl to continue making money off the GNR name. Nothing more. I'm sure Axl will continue to allow this Chinese Democracy 2 myth continue to grow so that it isn't so blatantly obvious that this is only a coverband looking to cash in on someone else's legacy.

Its simply because its not what Axl does he doesnt have litte bitch managers callng him telling him to go do photoshoots for this or that, none of the band have a need to have therepictue next to there bandmembers they have been in tis game before.
