According to friends of mine that have been affiliated w/the recording business a long time Azoff has always been a PigDog!
And Andy Gould is a hapless lapdog.
 The lack of managerial support in asia as well as the non-promotion and reports of Azoff being fired numerous times
are well-fitted into the jigsaw puzzle.

I do not see how this could affect a US tour so far.  Two separate issues at play.  I am sure ticketmaster as a company would not refuse a band because of something un -elated to ticketmaster.  Even though Azoff is involved it does not change the facts nor does it have anything to do with tickets or venues.  I am glad that someone stood up and said fuck that to the suits and now we will have the truth come out in court to show how Azoff is a piece of work.  Everyone is untouchable until someone wins against them.  Azoff broke his contract and then wanted payment?  GMAB

Finally someone is calling him on his shit and I'm behind GN'R all the way, Azoff may be a big dog in the music industry but the bigger they are the harder they fall! Seems breach of contract is a given in this case,and it was subliminal dirty Pool to file his case under Axl's PKA that has so much stigma attatched to it for him.

This is quite a foolish and ignorant post.  The manager works for the client, not the other way around.  If Axl as the client says no to a reunion, the manager has to respect that.  Period.

no, the manager tries to take emotion out of it and attempt to make the most amount of money possible for his client.  if the client declines the advice, the manager must decide whether he wants to deal with an uncooperative decision maker.  obviously azoff is gone so we see what he decided.  he's a business man, he wants what is owed him and he wouldn't pay a lawyer to sue if he couldn't win.

As I mentioned earlier in this thread, Azoff has a long and highly-regarded history of reuniting bands. So it's rather silly  for anyone to appear shocked and appalled that Azoff would pressure Axl to reunite with his former bandmates.   Axl knew this guy's track record going in, knew the heavyweight position Azoff plays in the music industry and still opted to butt heads with him.  If Axl didn't want to be pressured to do a reunion, he should have stayed with Merck. 

However, I do think the countersuit will be an interesting one, especially if Axl is successful at challenging Azoff on anti-trust issues. 

Regardless - All of this doesn't appear to bode well for a U.S. tour.  It would seem unlikely Live Nation would want to book a tour for a band if the company's chairman feels the band hasn't paid for past services.

See that's where you're wrong.  Just because Axl doesn't capitulate and agree to a reunion, that doesn't make him "uncooperative".  Anyone who has read anything Axl has had to say over the years could tell you he didn't want a reunion.  To press that issue, if for no other reason than your own financial gain, is serving your interests and greed, not the interests of the client.  The problem with that, as I said, is that the manager works for the client.

For those whose use the ruthless and saavy business argument to maintain that Azoff is undoubtedly right, could the same not be said about Axl's business saavy and supposedly ruthless tactics in order to secure the name and rights to Guns N Roses?

Someone called this already, the suit would be followed by a countersuit. I think something of this magnitude could really tie Azoffs hands, the claims he made are not just about their business relationship, but about the way Azoff has taken control of music, and wielded his power in order to get his way. Whether or not these allegations are founded is up to a judge to decide.
