Axl has a rep for spending more time on litigation than he does making records.
i think thats taking it a bit too far. true he spends a lot of time in court, but thats a bit of a stretch and you know that.....

Axl was pushed into answering the lawsuit w/a countersuit, and it does hold valid claims. Don't think it will go to court, but it may serve as impetus for others to say "hell no" to mgmt & label demands.

It's just not GNR without an acrimonious lawsuit. I genuinely love this stuff, I'll take a crazy lawsuit press-releases over keychains and posters any day - and they're free!

True, It's usually "get in the ring" when GNR is involved, and has been for a very, very long time! What was the first Lawsuit? Adler  suing  or Izzy pissing on the plane? Sky harbor in Phoenix carries very bad vibes! Also the St.Louis incident, the neighbor from hell, and various others. Donington doesn't count as that wasn't actually a lawsuit per se.

Axl is really pissed about the album stream? I think that prob very little, if any, effect on album sales. What hurt CD was Axl and GNR not doing shit. It doesn't matter if he was mad at Azoff for whatever the two were bitching about, what hurt album sales was the complete lack of promotion for one of the most anticipated albums of all time

Im sure the lack of promotion did not help, but I would not put that in the top 5 reasons why it did not sell 10 million albums in its first year. I would have to say the fact Slash was not there, the anonymity of the new members, and the fact the music is completely different from anything with GNR on it were the main factors. Factor that in with todays music market, downloading n such, combined with what main stream has turned into, and the leaks. I really wish they would have pushed it out in 06 when there was a buzz about what kind of crazy shit Axl was doing, because the leaks though very different were enough to catch people attention.

As for the myspace thing, if Axl is such a huge control freak, how could Azoff anything get by him as far as what to do with his long awaited album. If there was no consent by Axl, and Azoff went and did it anyway, there might be a legitimate claim. Whether or not it hurt album sales is up to a judge to decide. Skwerl got nailed pretty hard for streaming music without the authors consents, so shouldnt the same rules apply to Azoff? I guess we would have to know what specific duties Azoffs actual management contract entailed, if any.

Axl said that management held things back for so long and revolving-door-band-members slowed down the process of getting Chinese out.

Management normally  p u s h e s  an artist to get the record out, Axl owned all the rights he needed to and it's pretty obvious that some folks quit if they deliver something n' don't see it being released in a 5-year timespan. So it's all a vicious circle to me.

And I can understand Axl very damn good, as it's not his fault. He wants to run things his way and that approach requires  t i m e  -- and those assheads don't have... or let's say don't have the patience (hey-hey-heyaaaahayeee) to wait the time required to do things in a nice, karma-friendly, correct way.

And that's it.

Nobody knows the specifics about the verbal agreement except the people involved, everything else is speculation and guesstimation. Azoff is clearly trying to be an ass,imo by using Axl's PKA not once, but twice. I hope Axl smokes his greedy, bullying ass,and I hope the GVT takes a long, hard look at the merit of giving one person so much power over a monopoly, and how that power can be abused. If Axl didn't approve the streaming, then it was wrong, period.
