It's sad that someone else than the band gets these stem files in there possession, I hope Axl or someone in the GN'R camp can get this shit to stop, it's just not right.

Whats the harm in stem files? Its music thats already available, on an album that I have already personally bought 4 times.

So you think every artist out-there should have there stems leaked or include them in there release so everyone can have a go at them? Stems are used to  give the mastering engineer flexibility, also to be used in backing tracks, movies, remixes etc not to be leaked by some douche who obtained them illegally. Maybe uncle Axl can explain it much better and kick your ass at the same time.
No matter how many times you bought CD. It's just not right, if you were an artist/musician/engineer/producer you would feel the same, obviously your not. If your were involved in the production of music, film or whatever on daily basis you would feel the same. It's obvious another step in the piracy debate, whats next? First people want music for free, resulting in less and less pay for the artist, less and less budgets to record albums, promote, tour and so on but then you would want them to not only give you the music for free but include the stems as well ! Why not ask every part recorded, released not. Whats the harm? Get out your door, knock on the neighbors door and kick em out claiming it's yours because you live in the same street anyway, whats the fucking harm...

I agree with some parts of your post. As a musician I'm positive about personally going after everyone pirating my music -- which is such a rare case that I actually could go after everyone who does it.

Bottom line is: A song is a message from the artist to the listener. It's interesting to hear everything seperate but it's not the artists vision. Maybe you get a better understanding of what Axl wanted to express if you listen to his voice on a single track. Maybe you see what improvement BBF was or what effects and instruments were buried in the mix master. Maybe that's true -- but the artist wants you to experience his vision not his struggle.
