I hadn't listend to ChiDem for over a month and I was really hungry for it. I listen to only old bands like Metallica, Pantera, Alice in Chains, etc. I'd just gone through a cycle of Pantera's "Vulgar Display of Power" and "The Great Southern Trendkill" and then AIC's new one and it was just fucking time already to put in ChiDem.
Honestly, the album just gets better for me the older it gets. I hear notes or effects I didn't notice before or an extra double-tracked voice and it's almost like being born again. Axl's lyrics on this album just blow me the freak away. And the music really emphasizes the mood of the subject, none probably more perfectly than "Shackler's Revenge," "Street of Dreams," "This I Love," and "Catcher."
Looking forward to the end of the work day just so I can hear some more.
