on a, slightly, more serious note; i make a point of staying away from the whole arab isreali thing, mostly because everyone involved seems to be at fault and a complete shit and people not directly involved seem to be fighting about who is more of a complete shit. If america had been formed by displacing an ethnic group and resituating them in the worst location possible, surrounding them with ideological enemies therefore guarenteeing them endless conflict, then it would be a relevant comparison. I mean, it would be relevant until you factor in historical events like the Arab/Israeli war, the Six-Day war or the ongoing disenfrachisement of the non-jewish Palestinians through ghettoization and the tacit approval of Israeli aggression in Gaza and the West Bank over the last six and a half decades. In fact, now that I think about it, I'm not sure that your examples are relevant at all.

The formation of modern Israel and the west's reluctance to really get involved militarily and politically to right our own mistakes have been the cause of most of the conflict and violence in the region since WWII. I don't have any problem with politicians or crazy old ladies who are willing to admit that we screwed up.

The problem is, when the Israel was created in Palestine, the Palestinians were forced to get out of a certain zone of the country so the jews could live there. What the Jews did in Palestine (cause i refuse to call it Israel) was creating new laws, a new religion and a military team to kill everyone who opposed those laws, basically restraining Palestines of their rights in their own country and killing thousands of those who opposed to it.

They took out Palestinians of their own homes and continuously try to ban them from their own country, and thats why they don't accept the stupid jews there. All the countries in middle east know the real history about it.

The US never supported the Palestinians on getting their country back, meaning their own religion and laws back, because they have thousands of jews in their country and that would create an awful conflict within the US. Europe seems to be the same thing.

Now imagine if the US placed all the guys from guantanamo that were released in the US, and they started a cult with a new religion and new laws and traditions, and invaded the US with it, while killing americans and sending them out of their own country. How would you feel about it? I totally understand why the Palestines are in constant war with Israel.

Anyway.. the beef down there is older than anyone alive has any right to talk about. They've been at this war since they've had books and will probably always be at war for a land both people firmly believe belongs to them.

I myself, am with Israel.

If these Palestinians think thats wrong then they should form up their military and march into battle.

If they're too weak as a people to do so and can only bitch, moan and fire rockets into civilian areas then I say fuck them. They should settle on whatever patch of sand they've been given and make the most of what they have until they can do something about it.

I don't think the world needs to step in at all (unless it goes nuclear) and we should let them continue to do what they'll always do for that piece of land.

i have nothing against jews.

the UN or league of nations or whatever is was called back then a mistake by doing anything at all in palestine.  but that was before even my grandparent's time, we have to live with the mistake and the only way to correct is to withdraw support for israel and stop funding them or selling them weapons or giving the military aid.  this is the only way the US can have peace
