Sweet child solo
« on: June 10, 2010, 11:50:48 AM »
Guys one question.......

Why Dj doesnt do the sweet child o mine solo completly, why Ron has to enter and do the other part....... I mean one guitarrist should play that solo like slash use to do it. Or is that difficult that the only one that can do it is slash.

Guns N Roses - Live in seoul korea 2009 Sweet Child O mine HQ Screen Cam Ver.

Wow just caught that.

Its kind of sad looking really. You can also hear how DJ's bends and such lack the real feel of the song.

I think Ron did really good with the second part though. THAT dude should be the prime player and they should give up on having the "Slash" type of guy.

Also.. the comments on DJ and the new band are pretty fucking brutal on youtube...

"DJ asba .. slash wanna be :D
top hat : check
Les Paul : check
The hair : FAIL :D"

"Axl needs his old lineup back badly, and i think he knows it. Fuck this guitar player !
Slash 4 life ! ! ! ! ! "

"no es lo mismo
nadie lo hace como lo hacia slash"

"they succcccccck sooo bad without the real people..."

"Axl Still has a great voice he's still one of the greatest singers in the world but they need the orginal band back this looks like Axl Rose and some random posers"

"everything about this band is just boring and just trying to be something its not and will never be "

Ouch.

and yet they're in front a crowd of thousands who are enjoying themselves? its almost as if people like to whine and bitch on the internet. I hope this isnt a trend that takes off; i'd hate to imagine what the world would become if all the internet was used for was smart asses to complain about shit.

But you cant tell that the current band is very solid together, they all are friends, you can tell by watching the videos until this day, that they are a band. People dont realize that for example tommy and richard, pittman, dizzy had more years with guns that the old members , so that make`s them more guns n roses to me. Slash and duff, gilby, and matt were guns only 5 years, look how long this guys are gettting playing together:  ron 5 years now
                 richard: 10n years now
                 tommy : 10 years
                 dizzy: puff I lost count
                 pittman: 10 years now
frank: like 8 years or something

The years thing is fine and dandy.. but in 50 years these gents will probably not reach the raw level of musical genius that the founders made into what "Guns N Roses" is.

Just my opinion there of course since I'm more of a RnR type while Nu fans seem to be happy as hell with the soft ballads and protools.

And 2na.. I'd never take away from the selling power of "Guns N' Roses". It was a wise though underhanded business decision for Axl to ensure he kept that name ;)

I actually did fall for that.. though to me it was more like a "sign this or I'm not singing" type of thing.

I mean.. its not my business but it does sound very much like something Axl would do based on what everyone else in the band said and how people talk about the fine gentleman in general.

it also wouldnt stand up in court for a second. if i hold a gun to your head and get you to sign your house over to me you can hold off on calling a removals company.

as for other people saying it, perhaps they massaged the truth. often drug addicts and alcoholics play about with reality. axl is clearly no saint, but it seems odd you would take word of some junkies. especially when what they say doesnt hold water.

SOS = Same old shit....

Slash is not in GnR anymore because....he quit.  He's busy right now doing commercials for [insert product here].  Say whatever you want but that's the bottom line.  He didn't stay and fight it out a la Keith Richard's advice.  He.  Quit.

I love the guy but some of you fans are like Muslims who deny the uncomfortable truth about the satanic verses.

The way they play it now is an accurate reproduction of the recorded version.  DJ plays Slash's track and Ron plays Slash's overdubbed track.  On the original, there is a note held with vibrato when the fast part comes in.  This is what they do live on this tour.  They have however started to add little harmonised lead licks and parts that arent like that on the album, whilst Richard plays Rythm.  However, i think it sounds great, so i won't complain.

Cause there are 3 guitarists, why would just one of them play the solo if they can combine and play the shit out of that! They did the same thing with November Rain if I'm not mistaken. It's quite cool, I'd say. It fits there.

Yeah if you listen good to the original recording of Sweet child O' mine on Appetite for destruction,
you hear that 2 guitars are playing the solo, the first part without the wah pedal and when that parts end the wah pedal comes in and if you listen good it is mixed together with another guitar.
It's so nice to be normal, to be normal for a change....
