Remix album really on the way?

Both Brain and Melissa had the foresight early on to drive their musical careers in more than one direction. Though they each have an impressive list of accomplishments in their own right, as a production team they are becoming a force to reckon with. These days the pair is involved in a plethora of composing, writing and scoring projects. This year alone they have already done two major game themes for Sony Playstation, several pieces of original music for Playstation home, and are also scoring a major Playstation series release set for February 2011. They have produced three Guns N’ Roses remixes from Chinese Democracy at the request of Axl Rose to be released on an upcoming remix album, and they have just come off scoring the E3 2010 Xbox media briefing convention for Microsoft. The duo has also done numerous film trailer pieces some of which can be heard on Casa Verdugo, the forthcoming media LP from Howling Entertainment. Currently, Brain and Melissa are gearing up for the release of the first volume of three avant-garde 5-disc sets they are doing collaboratively with Buckethead entitled “Best Regards”.

Seems like this may actually really happen. In my opinion this would be a good stopgap between CD and the next album, it seemed to work well for Linkin Park. I for one am looking forward to hearing a different spin on the tracks.

I know there was another thread about a remix album but I checked and no-one had posted in it for a good year or so.

Thoughts on a remix album?

In the quote I posted it says Brain and Melissa did 3 CD remixes at Axl's request. I bolded the part about the remixes.

well for one, Brain isn't even in the band anymore

Maybe thats where the new remix of Oh My God enters, but i doubt it. I doubt that Axl is serious about releasing a remix album

Axl should give us the multitracks recordings and the fans will do their own mix, then he could work on a new album, I don't want to wait another decade, or 2, for NEW material.

ChineseDemocracyRemixed could also do well but lets face it we've heard all these stories hundreds of times before, I wouldn't believe squat until you actually had the disc in your hands or playing the music.

In a band like NIN a remix album is rational. In a band like GNR...i really wouldn't like to see it. I really dont  want to see GNR turned into Linkin Park or some band of that nature... I hope this remix album doesn't come out
