Disturbed
« on: July 24, 2010, 02:32:51 PM »
any fans here? IMO they're one of those bandsthat just keep getting more and more boring and predictable as their career goes on. Sickness and Believe (the first 2 lbums) were both really cool and inventive. Then they got successful and released 10,000 fists, which despite having 2 good songs on it (stricken, which is ont of their best. and the cover of Land of Confusion) was very mainstream sounding and boring. When Indestructible came out I was hopeful that it signaled a return to their ass-kicking glory days. It had so many good songs on it, and even a couple great ones. Namely the title track, Inside the fire, and that re-working of Perfect Insanity. the whole album sounded like a band that finally hit it's stride and found their groove. Then... I hear th new single Another way to Die, and it sounded soooo boring and mickey mouse cookie cutter-ish. I have a feeling we can expect more from the new album as a whole too. thoughts?

I actually agree with you pretty much 100 percent on all that. I really liked the title track from Ten-Thousand Fists, Stricken, and Land of Confusion, but other than that I really did not like that album. Indestructible was pretty awesome. I still listen to the title track and Inside the Fire quite a bit.

I lost almost all hope when I heard Another Way To Die. But they released the title track though from their new album. Asylum. Not bad.

Not Bad. lol That's pretty much my thoughts exactly. The song isn't really all that memorable, but the overall sound is what I like  about it. If the rest of the album sounds like that it should be alright.

Hopefully they put on a good show at Uproar this year. I got tickets for the gig in Columbus on the 27th of august. Mainly going for Avenged Sevenfold and Stone Sour, but I'm definitely into seeing disturbed as well

I know it's a gnr fansite and evrything, but imo you made the right call putting uproar at the top of the list. seeing avenged sevenfold and any band with corey taylor in it in one evening is gonna be more badass. This comes from experience I saw A7X and the Knot last year at rock on the range (which by the way I feel so lucky to have america's best rock festival practically in my back yard annually) and that show owned

The new album has a few good tracks.
Seen these guys at the Uproar festival in Toronto a few weeks back and it was a tight set.
