Yeah mac is awesome if you're too much of a fumbling ballbag to use windows and linux withought fucking everything up when you click on nakedkatyperry.exe

If you actually want to DO STUFF on your computer, PC is objectively superior.

If you just arse about web browsing / word processing and also want to have a safe but restricted and spoon fed user experience then mac is great. Well it would be... if they never overcharged you for shitty low spec hardware that you can get on pc for cheaper.

You'll look the fucking shit in starbucks, though.

lol i wish i was super awesome and able to customise every inch of a user interface to be able get to my super awesomely useful programs in a couple less clicks, but i primarily 'arse about' browsing the web and word processing, like 99% of people.

it's strange though i've worked with web designers and been trained to use audio editing software and everyone i come across who actually works with media in any way seems to use a mac.

as for any practical lack in snow leopard- I can run windows through my mac and have the best of both worlds anyway.

it really depends what you want if for and what programs your going to be running, i have a mac for logic and pro tools, pro tools on pc i just can't get to work right.

also osx snow leopard the current mac opperating system is great

both companies, windows and apple, are money grabbing but in my opinion i wont go back to wondows (even as i right this on a hp pavillion equipped with XP) :P

if you want just a computer for word processing, web browsing, watching movies, playing games, listening to music, then get a pc,

but if you need soemthing specific, like recording software (cos cubase and nuendo for windows both suck cock). or video or photo editing, get a mac because they are better for that kind of stuff due to the superiority of the OS making things run alot more smoothely

i will say this about wondows though, i hate when i new opperating system is released, and people get it on the day of release, find bugs and denounce the O.S. on the internet, its their own stupid fault for buying an operating system on release day

For pro level web design, image manipulation and audio editing Mac is, at best, even with PC with regards to software. IMO the only excuse for using mac software in a professional environment is the superiority of Final Cut Pro over Adobe Premier for video editing. EVEN THEN you can install OSX on a lower priced PC with faster hardware for LESS and use that piece of software if you REALLY want to.

Literally the only reasons anyone ever buys a mac PC is because they're ignorant, too lazy to sort something better out or it looks nice. And yes, notice I said PC. Nowadays that's all macs are, they're just branded PCs built on mediocre foxconn hardware with a shiny case.

This isn't fanboy rage, it's just true. I actually like some apple products. I bought the 32gb 3gs on day one to replace my iPod and old phone. They are really ahead of the game in some areas. Their desktop computers and laptops are indefensible, though.

finally I could manage to buy a MacBook Pro 15" for myself. it's about a month that I'm using Mac. never had such an amazing experience during the past 15 years of working with Microsoft Windows and Pc shits. I can say, for me there's no way to get back to PC again. I'm in love with my Snow Leopard OS! :D

My brother is an AVID Apple Fanboy, he has the Iphone, 2 macbooks and then last week, he decided he wanted a desktop and learnt that for the same hefty pricetag as a iMac, he could get a seriously powerful PC made custom for him. The very people i work with, who use macs on a regular basis and only use macs commented just the other day that the quality of them has nosedived along with iPods. I do love macs, i didn't use to but i use them at work everyday.

However, i'd still take a PC...  If you use a PC Properly, and get a really well built one instead of the cheapest Acer at PC World, they are vastly superior. The fact is, Apple right now are the big company in the world, the big cool company and a recent survey showed that more people are willing to get into debt for apple than any other company on the earth.

I'm not a fanboy of either, PCs can really get on my nerves sometimes when the shit hits the fan but people complaining that PC's aren't as well built or the OS is crap and runs slow obviously didn't have a decent PC. i'm running 7 on a Sony Vaio which i've had for a year and can run 2 large audio programs, a web browser, any chat programmes and still be running smoothly. Fact is, if your PC is well built, you look after it and don't end up clicking and downloading dumb shit, a PC can be vastly superior to a Mac for the same price.

i think its more to do with the fact that alot of people who work in or run studios are expected to be that knowledgeable about plenty of other equipment and software (any 1 worth their salt is), that learning windows properly is too much to expect,

it's also because you can have Logic Pro, plus the risk of crashing at a vital time is reduced!
