Throwing shit is not cool. I don't really blame Axl this time too much.

Look, I can get that you waited ages for them to come on stage but don't fucking tell me you wanted them to perform. He usually never gives warnings and coming back to play? If you pay for a GNR show you know before hand it's not going to be on time.

I think that the... the problems start when uh.... you start thinking you're different than everybody else on the fuckin planet.

;) love it! Axl does need to listen to his own rants! (Cobain rant)!"what is this word alternative"
But seriously this start of the tour is not looking good at all!
I'm afraid its not going to make it back to the states! I knew I should of went to Sturgis :(

This makes no sense to me.
How much were tickets? and they just boo him and waste their money? He's never on time, everyone knows that, how stupid.
Dont take this the wrong way Karin but your friends look like they are wild in bed, I mean pure filthy.

When he says "Ok, stop, stop" my adrenaline rises. I don't wanna hear that.

BTW, I've got a solution.

An other video I was reminded of is this:
Rawhide Blues Brothers

They need a chickenwire.

BTW, here is an other video from the WTTJ incident:
Guns N' Roses - Welcome To The Jungle (Live At The O2 Dublin)

I don't fucking get this crowd.

CD is over - Massive cheer
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
WTTJ starting riff - Massive cheer
riff again - BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

What the fuck?

You should make your tag line something to the effect of "Kov's realism, shattering idealism everywhere."

I can absolutely understand why a band would get upset at people throwing shit onstage. It's ridiculous, and in a perfect world other fans around the perpetrator could identify them to security and get them thrown out, hopefully getting in a punch to the ribs before they're escorted out.

However, we don't live in a perfect world, and I have never been able to figure out how it makes sense to punish 13,997 people because there are 3 douche-tards in the audience. Maybe someone can explain it to me.

At any rate, it's good to hear the band came out and finished the show. That is what professionals do.
"This fire is burning and it’s out of control. It’s not a problem you can stop, its rock ‘n’ roll."

Hi all, first post here. Was at the gig last night.

First off - usual start time is 9pm in dublin, Axl came on at 10.30, which is what I expected. Yes there were boos and a few bottles thrown. Axl couldve easily defused the situation by explaining or acknowledging the fact he was late. He didnt (but does he ever?). So 2nd song in during WTTJ, he got hit and said he'd walk off if it happened again, it did about 3 songs later and he left. 30% of the people then left, some had already left before the gig started as the buses/trains stop at 11.30/12 O'clock.

They came back on at 11.30, after the house lights had been on for 15 minutes, and played 90 minutes, sounded great and Axls voice was superb as he was pissed off and wasnt moving at all on stage, just standing still and singing.

I really enjoyed myself, good night of chaotic rock and roll.  :)

As for the Irish crowd, well, there isnt a better crowd when theyre good, and there isnt a worse crowd when theyre bad. A lot of people were really there for Sweet Chile OMine, one gig a decade idiots who wouldnt know a rock show if it came up and slapped them in the face. Which incidentally, is exactly what happened last night!!  :D

Money well spent, delighted they came back on and Axl sounded fucking great.

Loves and hugs,

A happy 31 year old Irish GnR fan!!

I was at the Electric Picnic a few year ago to see the Sex Pistols and something similar happened, but they were on time! People throwing glass bottles at them!! Again, they were great and I was embarrassed to be Irish.

That said, 99.99% of Irish crowds are great. But when they're not, they're REALLY awful.

its understandable that people will get annoyed at the very late start when no explanation is offered, but i was so ashamed to be in a crowd with such bitter/obnoxious people. the majority of the crowd was there to have a good time and genuinely supported the band.

Guns won the crowd back on the return to the stage. Axl was visibly affected by the earlier incident but the band could not have given more when they returned to the stage.

There are no excuse for throwing shit at the band. I felt really bad seeing so called "fans" from my homeplace behave like that towards my favourite band.

I'm embarrassed by GNR...treating my city like that.Irish people weren't gonna take being treated like crap easily.Remember Axl's first words were when he hit the stage in Dublin in 06? "Now this is a fucking rock and roll show"...But when you're self proclaimed "King Dick" don't expect not to get a little back in return...especially in Dublin.
