Favourite Intro
« on: October 27, 2010, 10:44:52 AM »
Pretty self-explanatory really. Post your favourite intro to a song and say why.

Superstition - Stevie Wonder. Frankly, the drum is enough to excites me but through in the hook and it's on like a funky donkey kong.

Stevie Wonder - Superstition

to many songs with good intro's...

but alright, some of the best intro's I know:
Not evrybody's favorite I think, but:
Chinese Democracy - Guns N' Roses
the talking chinese people for about 2 minutes and then the guitar and drums,
evry time I listen to that it gives me goose bumps because it was so awsome at the concert! :D

Hyper Music - Muse
most of the people think it's trash the intro,
well it is, but still in a way I think it's special^^

Time is running out - Muse
just the "human" percussion at the intro when the bass is playing is well done^^

Dead Horse - Guns N' Roses
the calm guitar and singing of Axl Rose, followed by 2 people who are talking and one says:
"When se said she was gonna like wreck my car, I dind't know what to do!"

Dance until we die - Omnia
don't have a youtube link for this one (will be posted when I am back home) but that intro is hillarious xD
because the singer says things like: Alright, I'm not gonna shout and then you here him shouting: "AAAaaaaaaaaahh for fuck sake" xD
It's so nice to be normal, to be normal for a change....

Killing Joke - Primitive

The drums, leading into the bass, the guitar feedback leading up to the riff....great.

I thought the intro of prostitute was first the drums and then the guitar?
and after the sentence: Seems like forever, and a day, then the whole band kicks in.

WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE - LIVE INTRO 2010 GUNS N' ROSES CHINESE DEMOCRACY TOUR

This is a pretty good one, I love just about all of the WTTJ live intros for the 06 tour, my favorite being the last hammerstein show.

As for others-

GNR- Breakdown/Paradise City/ Chinese Democracy

Metallica- One/Fade to Black/ Master of Puppets

Maiden- Fear Of the Dark

Ozzy- Crazy Train/Mr Crowley

I could go on for days, but these have always stuck out.

The best intro to any song is Out to get me at the Ritz 88. Youtube it. The rant, followed by Slash's riff, sends shivers down my spine every time.

Gimme Shelter by the Stones because it's so fucking classy.

Boom by p.o.d: Any song which begins with that riff and the word "Wooshah" is ballsy.
