Well, you didn't read what I wrote or at least try to understand my point of view on the matter.

I differ from your opinion, nonetheless, you have the right to show your point of view and etc.

The problem I have with the way you're doing it is the following :

You repeat the same opinion over a dozen times to make it seems factual.

And you do it, in what i'm interpreting at least, in a condescended way which is the real problem about your posts.

And again you turn my last post at your advantage, where you'll be seen as the victim of the people not smart enough to want to argue about things. I love debating as I state before, just not debating with someone stubborn saying the same arguments over and over again that's all.

Last post on the matter, back on topic, sorry guys  :D

i wonder how album sales will be compared to CD. I mean CD had over a decade of hype and mysticism about it, it had become a legend without being heard. the sheer curiosity factor probably drove sales. this album will have to do without that, which is a little worrying

In my opinion a lot of die hard fans of the Slash era avoided buyng the CD record, now if the next record came out next year they may well buy it as the lure is just too much. If Axl can put on a few top rocker tunes to be released as singles then the record will be promoted well. At this moment I'd just be happy with new songs.

Exactly which part of my post isn't true?  Is it the part where Axl owns the GNR name?  Is it the part where the music is his vision, and he records and re-records tracks regardless of which band members come and go?  It's his show, dude.  Nobody is saying the band isn't good - they're just saying that it isn't GNR.

Sorry if the truth shatters your make-believe fantasy that you have going on there.  But shooting the messenger - me - for saying it out loud won't suddenly change it. But hey, if dissing others for stating facts or posting opinions that differ from yours - somehow makes you feel good about yourself, then knock yourself out.
Again, you say this isnt gnr yet you ran a website called mygnr, which was about this band that is not gnr. Surely someone with your great ethics and morals could see the double standard here? Way to flagrantly false advertise a website to get hits and look cool. Why not call it myaxlforum?

Why not leave that moral graveyard and start your own myaxlforum? I dont get it, you were there for years and only now just decided that it is not gnr? The old band hasnt been together for quite some time, so was it the inclusion of DJ that made this not gnr? Why the sudden change?

How long till this hits the garden?

Useless efforts. She's got this little game going where she only responds to those posts that somehow (even if twisted around) fit into her theories. She fundamentally doesn't respond to those posts with valid point or those that downright "prove" her wrong...
Fuck that, waste of time.

i think the "hype" was overstated. and any hype that was there was pretty much wasted with no promotion - for whatever reason no promotion occurred. No question of the potential though - the myspace thing broke records or something!

I dont think curiosity drives "sales" anymore. It may have drove torrent downloads etc... but not official disk sales. Why would anyone pay for CD out of curiosity, when they could download it for free instead? I any future release will do just fine if a reasonable amount of regular promotion takes place - not that i care about album sales personally, i should state.

I'm honestly not sure if you're just intentionally being argumentative so that the thread will be moved to the Siberia section again or if you're genuinely obtuse.

Mygnr - as others pointed out earlier in the thread - was formed long before Axl's solo band was around. It's a site dedicated to GNR - which means all members of the original lineup. All discussions about Slash, Stevie and others were held in the main section for years - right up until VR was formed. Then we set up a new section so that people could read about VR in one area and Axl's band in another. But the site is dedicated to - and respects - all members of the original band. If it wasn't, there wouldn't be any discussions about VR, Slash or anybody else.  Like it or not - admit it or not - the vast majority of people wouldn't even know about GNR if it weren't for the music the original lineup created.  Very few joined the forums because they heard CD. To suggest otherwise, is just silly.

Agreed.
Without the curiosity factor, it will be much tougher to sell the follow-up record, especially if Axl releases it without any promotion again.

You think? No I was under the impression GNR rose to fame because of Chinese Democracy. My point, being that you used the name GNR for years after the first lineup broke up, when in your head the band was Axls solo project. Your site told people to go to mygnr post slash in order to get all the latest news for "Guns N Roses".

I remember going to mygnr to read about Chinese Democracy, which was considered by your website to be a release from the band GNR. The site also promotes tours for GNR, not new gnr or axls solo project, it specifically said and will continue to say Guns N Roses. So for all these years the sites moderator didnt even consider the band gnr, yet still used the name GNR in order to get hits? Pretty classy ill say.

that's true, most people wouldn't bother spending the money out of sheer curiosity, but then actual sales are down across the board, i think there's still a group (albeit small) that bought the album for that reason

just one song that could climb mainstream charts would be huge really. tbh i thought better and the blues had potential to do that (not to no.1 but high enough to gain attention), but of course no promotion etc killed that

and stop getting this thread dragged to the garden guys lol

I think with CD we should be thankful that it came out in the first place. Your right that songs like Better, SOD, TWAT and This I Love would have gathered some interest from non GNR fans in the mainstream charts. With all the behind the scenes goings on with GNR, maybe Axl didn't have the strength to release any singles. What the next album needs as a lead single is a song with a catchy riff.
