Sixx: A.M Lies of the Beautiful People

I've literally only just got round to listening to them today.

Have to say, what a FANTASTIC band these guys have formed, its good solid honest hard-rock and its real. Such a refreshing listen.

I hope DJ Ashba gets to write some GnR material, he is a unique talent.

The Heroin Diaries is a fantastic, fantastic record, and this new album looks like its gonna be special too.

Really...the only thing Nikki has done worth a shit since "SHOUT AT THE DEVIL" was his '58' project. This sleek, pro tools alt-metal shit is horrendous to my ears.

I'm not sure this is really alt metal. I guess it depends what you are into.

I'd take this over Motley Crue all day long. DJ shows some nice touches in his work with this band and I think he could become the star in this Guns N Roses lineup at the moment.

I know he was keen to write wasn't he.

But yeah, the singer has a pretty awesome voice and the music is nice and solid. Pro-Tools is used in everything these days so the real test of a band is live, and these guys have got it.

hmmm I've heard this type of song/song structure sooo many times....it's OK for what it is...Ashba fits well with that type of predictable modern rock song ...I'm starting to worry about new gnr songs now tho.

Ashba will be fine. Nothing wrong with simple song structure as lons as the quality is good. It won't hurt GnR to et back to basics with rock. Chinese Democracy had no flow and was just a bit overdone, as good as bits of it were.

I think Bumblefoot and Ashba will be awesome lead guitarists. the rhythm section is where I worry, that's where Izzy was the man for GnR, Fortus will have a lot on his plate to shine there.

Only problem I see is that people are going to whine that it is to radio friendly and mainstream or whatever. Never understood that way of thinking, if it's good, like it. I admit that it is very radio friendly, but to me it is in a cool way. There is a couple songs that would be a perfect fit for Summer 2011 songs

They're not bad but they aren't excellent either. Also the album artwork just feels like a Marilyn Manson tribute act..... also give alice in chains the heart cover back!
