To Fire the Staff or Not
« on: February 28, 2011, 07:32:05 PM »
In my current art history research, I am exploring the role of the female patron during the late Renaissance.

Recent studies have shown that the Renaissance woman wasn't as maginalized as previous 'patriachal' histories have suggested.................

I am thinking abouit the power struggles/gender roles and relationships within the Royal Court.

You know that situation where the king takes on a new bride, but the new bride has to put up with the existing Royal staff - cooks, cleaners, accountants etc - where she clearly cannot be the Mistress of her her own domain......................

I mean she couldn't just fire them, could she............? Today, obviously she would..........

My research is looking at other ways, the woman of the reanaissance was able to extert her power, influence and authority in her own household.

'history is the study of the deeds of great men' thomas carlyle.

oh how times have changed. feminist interpretations of history are certainly in vogue right now.

No actually, you are wrong. Feminist theory is rather outdated, by about 30 years. Most historians are aware of it's flawed logic.

And we have moved beyond this anatgonistic view of gender relationships.

Gender theory and post feminist theory is more current (viable).

More so is anthropological theory as a way of understanding the 'battle of the sexes' so to speak.

not at all. prone to.sollipsism as you are you might be unaware but there are others with an interest in history on this forum.

myself and other history Academics often slip in contentious material to test the others attention. clearly the Academic standards at your institute are, ahem, lacking.

As your posts have clearly indicated, your logic (or more to the point, your lack of it thereof) is simply not up to my standard.....

why don't you go and have a little chat with the little boys at your research club.

m'ok.......

yes. but the mods are the ones to mod the reported posts as well. So 2na will most likely mod or ignore your reported comment as well....

yes. but the mods are the ones to mod the reported posts as well. So 2na will most likely mod or ignore your reported comment as well....

I sent it to Sean and Dev.

The post she first deleted was one that simply explained/elaborated on point 4 of the reading process.

After my first post was deleted, I posted an explaination as to why I was elaborating on point (4) of the reading process in that thread. That was also deleted.

A box appeared on my screen saying 'message can't be found'

2Na totally misunderstood what was written. Denying the post, why I had written it and claiming that I was trying to create an argument or something - as if he were some kind of authority figure or something......

I do apologize to bring age into it but 2Na indicates that he is only 25 and unfortunately his immaturity was showing through in another thread.........

I'm sorry but a 25 year showing the disrespect that he did to one of his Elders is simply not acceptable behaviour.

Anyway, some of the younger fan base needed some help with what my colleague Ron had written about ending the bullshit - I tried to explain that (ie: the reason why I was elaborating on point 4) in the second post that got deleted.

As a qualified female teacher in my late 30s I was asked to step in, by Axl himself. (he cares about his younger fan base).......

(fyi, that is partly why I am here, I am a qualified teacher, doing a job that only a qualified teacher can do, such as monitoring instances of cyber abuse and bullying.........)

Suprised that the first post had been deleted, at about the same time, I received what I would consider to be a rather threatening PM by 2Na who claimed that I have already received one warning - I haven't - and that I should step back.

2Na also stated that: I was not to question the decision of a mod - but his PM did have a report button available that I of course made good use of - after all that is why that button is there.

It was that PM that I reported, as well as a consequent sexist quote posted by 2Na who then went on the troll the thread I created in the Books, Art and Philosophy section entitled: To Fire the Staff or Not.

I did post in the 'Ending The Bullshit Thread' that I would start a new thread on "How We Read" in the Books, Art and Philosophy section. I could see how that thread would be more appropriate for that kind of discussion.

And I gave 2Na the finger  :finger: all in jest.

( I mean if people get so sensitive about that smiley on a GN'R forum, perhaps we should ban that emoticon, hmmmmmmm)......

Indeed, that too was deleted.

Newsflash, i am an authority figure here.
I do apologize to bring age into it but 2Na indicates that he is only 25 and unfortunately his immaturity was showing through in another thread.........

Age has nothing to do with anything.

Your a fruit loop. You're also breaking rules by claiming to be someone you're not.
Suprised that the first post had been deleted, at about the same time, I received what I would consider to be a rather threatening PM by 2Na who claimed that I have already received one warning - I haven't - and that I should step back.

You were threatened with punishment if you continued to break the rules. You received a warning in my mod edit of your original trolling post in the 'bullshit' thread.
2Na also stated that: I was not to question the decision of a mod - but his PM did have a report button available that I of course made good use of - after all that is why that button is there.
Mod decisions are not to be questioned by regular forum members. The site management team reviews them where necessary,
It was that PM that I reported, as well as a consequent sexist quote posted by 2Na who then went on the troll the thread I created in the Books, Art and Philosophy section entitled: To Fire the Staff or Not.

I'm sure a mod will review those reports and make a decision. I wouldnt get your hope up.

I did post in the 'Ending The Bullshit Thread' that I would start a new thread on "How We Read" in the Books, Art and Philosophy section. I could see how that thread would be more appropriate for that kind of discussion.
So you admit what you wrote was off-topic?
And I gave 2Na the finger  :finger: all in jest.

( I mean if people get so sensitive about that smiley on a GN'R forum, perhaps we should ban that emoticon, hmmmmmmm)......

I'm not sensitive about that. What i am sensitive about is that you have been trolling, spamming and claiming to be someone you're not.
