CNN SHOCK POLL: RON PAUL HAS BEST CHANCE VS OBAMA

Who does best against Obama? Paul. The congressman from Texas, who also ran as a libertarian candidate for president in 1988 and who is well liked by many in the tea party movement, trails the president by only seven points (52 to 45 percent) in a hypothetical general election showdown. Huckabee trails by eight points, with Romney down 11 points to Obama.

DON'T FORGET TO WATCH THE DEBATE TONIGHT, GONNA BE A RAPE FEST :)

ok the above video he is being interviewed by a libertarian judge, who of course agrees with him.  but at least he gets out his basic platform

now below he is being interviewed by the guy from the young turks, who is a leftist, who is now a host of his own show on MSNBC, a hard core leftist channel, the neo-liberal version of fox news

I hope he starts to get some cred. Society doesnt really care about reason or facts anymore, not sure if it ever did, but now I am getting a bit older, and have seen the cycle. People think killing a man 8000 miles away makes them safer, but at the same time accept more restrictions in light of his death.

I have been saying, I like the libertarian front, and am semi preaching it, but I think the problems go much deeper than any political system. What is happening just seems like pure evil. Before the system is overhauled, there needs to be a cleaning of house in congress, the only problem is congress( all branches) governs congress. The first priority of government right now is the continuity of government.

How can Ron Paul change our government? Do you really think he can be elected in our idiotic society, and at the same time tell people they need to be more independent? A third of our country depends on government aid(including myself) and the middle class is rubbing arms with welfare, and they all watch CNN.

Can he actually win though? (not an election, but the nomination to run) I mean, the first caucuses are Iowa, right?  And if he campaigns on getting rid of farm subsidies (or if the topic is brought up and mentioned to people), surely he's gonna get buried there?  National election or not, often issues like that are gonna crop up in key individual states that are gonna negatively affect his chances of winning the Republican nomination.  That people don't want to go through the financial details and affordability of proposed policies line by line negatively affects him and gives an advantage to the ridiculous tax low, spend high (but not on anything that's actually gonna benefit people who aren't already well off) policies of the neo-cons. 'yay, America tough, prosperous, military strong, taxes low, we more manly than everyone else.'  Etc, etc.  Unfortunately, there's a distinct chance that that demographic makes up the larger part of those likely to vote in Republican caucuses/primaries.

can he win a republican nomination?  i don't know, i doubt it, would be a long shot that's for sure.  he does have momentum in his favor though, he is a fundraising super-phenom and has the best online support/presence of anyone out there, and he's a household name in 2011 where he was a nobody outsider in 08.

even as small the odds are, he's said recently he is running to keep spreading his message and get in front of as many people and college kids as possible

Go Ron Paul!  His new book "Liberty Defined" is a must read.  Can't say I agree with every single thing in the book, but am a true believer in Freedom and Liberty.  I believe that Libertarianism is the only thing that can get us out the mess that we've been in since Teddy Roosevelt and the "Progressive Era" 100 years ago.  And to Polar above me....don't know what channel you're watching (or not watching) but saying Juan Williams is the token liberal on FNC is a mistake.

Yeah I am happy he announced he will be running for presidency today. Too bad he announced it on an unlucky day lol. The only people I say he has to worry about in the preliminaries are Mitt Romney and the asshat Donald Trump. Once he gets past them he is all set to go.

Good interview.  Saying US has been already defaulting and continues to....  word.

Quote from: Showdown America
Instead of solving the revenue crisis by Making Wall Street Pay their fair share, ending the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy, and closing corporate loopholes that let Bank of America pay no income taxes for the past three years, Congress and the President have given us a Raw Deal.

"John Boehner should stop worrying about keeping his job as Speaker of the House and start worrying about creating jobs for the millions of Americans who are unemployed," said Bobby Tolbert, a Board Member and leader for a community organization, VOCAL-NY. Today's action was organized by VOCAL-NY and Community Voices Heard with help from National People's Action.

The debt ceiling and budget "deal" will increase unemployment and hurt any prospect of an economic recovery. Instead of raising revenue and creating jobs, Congress and the President are cutting vital public services -- education, health care, housing -- that Americans rely on in their daily lives.
