We are on the verge of a Great Great Depression
« on: June 01, 2011, 02:29:40 PM »
"Interest rates are amazingly low and that, thanks to Ben Bernanke, is driving everything," Yastrow said. "We’re on the verge of a great, great depression. The [Federal Reserve] knows it.

Investors should prepare themselves for a third round of quantitative easing, Simon Maughn, co-head of European equities at MF Global, told CNBC Wednesday.

google cloward and pivens

the banks have HUGE inventories of toxic assets, and they are strategically selling off foreclosures a piece at a time to keep from crashing the market in certain areas.  it will take YEARS to get through the back log and prices can't stable off and climb again until that happens.  in the meantime, the fed is starting to print money AGAIN and that will cause the biggest stagflation the world has ever seen.  the govt thinks it can print it's way into spending whatever/whenever.  keynesian economics is about to kill us, there is no way around it.

personally i'll be fine and my family will be fine, i've been out of cash and the stock market forever.  i have physical assets and precautionary measures in place.  i'm not an alarmist.  i just wanted to say i told you so

'Alarmism is excessive or exaggerated alarm about a
real or imagined threat.'

Declaring we're on the verge of a great, great depression is alarmist.

1) it's not my quote
2) if you have a depression worse that the Great Depression, you could name it the Great Great Depression or use an extra great to express relativity
3) nothing i typed or quote was in any way inaccurate factually or exaggerated, i welcome you and encourage you to fact-check me.

I don't doubt any of your facts. I pointed out you were being alarmist, by definition. You said you weren't, when in fact you were. It's really very straightforward.

Reiterating why you think your conclusions are correct has nothing to do with my point, so there's no point in your mentioning it.

but i'm not alarmed, nor did i express alarm, or conform to your definition...  projection my friend.  i was just posting articles that back up my last 1800 posts :)  i may have been gloating that NBC, a huge channel devoted to obama support, is finally reporting what i've said for years, but i am not alarmed or causing alarm.  and it must be something they believe if they'll report, they go to the ends of the earth to hide anything bad about the obama economy

may i refer you to this thread http://www.chinesedemocracy.com/forum/index.php/topic,47539.60.html

you can further chase your tail there.  please don't go ktallet status on me, you're too good for that.  you're also one of five trolls still left on the board trying to be the last one left when the lights get turned off, so please don't make me block the guy making 20% of the remaining posts

World English Dictionary
alarmist  (əˈlɑːmɪst)

— n
a person who alarms or attempts to alarm others needlessly or without due grounds

you already stated i had due grounds and you don't doubt my facts

and with that, my dear, i bid you adieu

my definition not good enough for you? curious that. clearly it didn't suit your conclusion so you went off to find some facts that fit your world view.

I'd be alarmed, but I'm not surprised.

im hoping im one of the 5.

and the Sarah Palin bit was blatant sarcasm.

As for Obama's policies - pretty much predictable when you consider his campaign was backed mostly by financial institutions. I read a report that said the Tory party funding came from the city (about 50-odd %). *EDIT*: http://thebureauinvestigates.com/2011/02/08/city-financing-of-the-conservative-party-doubles-under-cameron/

There's a book on my hitlist called The Investment Theory of Politics by Thomas Ferguson that i've been recommended a few times, if anyone has read it? The basic premise being you can predict policy by looking at the funding.

unless you're insinuating you are a troll, i was talking about ppl like horsey and 2na and kingbumblefoot who keep the forum alive with several posts daily.  i do like to bounce ideas off people who offer a different viewpoint, but most people here are 2 posts deep at most, which is fine, i still like to practice my arguments here before i use them with real people

i would certainly agree that obama is a puppet, which is why it's so important to give the president and executive branch as little power as possible

I'd be alarmed, but I'm not surprised.

i posted nothing exaggerated, you said my facts were good.  did i miss the excessive part?  i provide an alternative definition from the first source that popped up in google, and still i didn't fit that either .  you may be alarmed, but i'm not an alarmist, because i'm not alarmed personally, i've been calling it for years now.  is a weatherman who predicts a tornado, based on weather conditions, an alarmist?  i think not.  i reject the entire premise of your idiotic claim.  if you think my world view is inaccurate, feel free to present a counter argument... oh wait, you can't

when you don't fight fair and use logic and present a rational argument, then it leaves me at a deficit.  :) it was chris rock who said:

“Don't argue! You cannot win, you cannot beat a woman in a arguement. It's impossble you will not win. Cause men, we are handicapped when it comes to arguing cause we have a need to make sense”

once again: economic armageddon. if you don't see that as exaggerated or excessive you've got very high thresholds. what you are talking about is not a tornado, its noah's flood.
