A terrible day for justice, Im not massively into the case but the guy was a Demarol addict and his family and the media needed somebody to blame.

manslaughter or something like that. pretty watered down version of it too, iirc. the maximum he can get is 4yrs and a revoked license.

Michael Jackson's doctor was convicted Monday of involuntary manslaughter in the pop star's death for supplying an insomnia-plagued Jackson with a powerful operating-room anesthetic to help him sleep as he rehearsed for his big comeback.

how is this a bad verdict?   its not the correct way to treat insomnia by any means and he helped the patient die of the drug that he was paid to administer illegally.

This case was simple as shit, no doubt he was going to be guilty. involuntary manslaughter, meaning you killed somone accidentally due to Negligence. The Dorctor, ethically AND legally should have NOT administer those drugs even at request. Because of that he killed someone and the death could have been prevented if he dint give him all of the drugs.

dosnt matter if Jackson asked him to do it. As a doctor, he just should not have.

But yea people celebrating this, common......  is kinda Jacksons fault too.. is not like Murray hated jackson.

I'll agree that this was a case brought up by "popular demand"...

Regardless, one cannot ignore the fact that he was injecting this ANESTHETIC into his blood stream on a daily basis as a "treatment for insomnia". You can say that Michael Jackson was an additct etc etc, which makes it all the more obvious that the doc shouldn't have been treating him in this way. The doc took an informed decision when he decided to earn large sums of money to provide drugs to a drug addict, he knew the risks, he gave his blessing by administering the injections and he also failed in failing when he was making phone calls etc instead of watching his patient carefully.

Sure, he is a scape goat, so I'd be content with him losing his medical license, because that is a given.

The police did the correct thing right from the start to question this guy.

Are you lot saying if I paid 2Na to IV me everyday with special drugs, he only can get to legally and is responsible for, to make me go unconscious & I die, that police wouldn't charge him the same?

I seen a Doctor put into the insane asylum right after he mercy 'put out of his misery' somebody in his care who was suffering.  pending trial. Was he put there for popular demand?  giving somebody anesthesia everyday is just as crazy.

i think the scapegoat thing refers to the fact that people will now absolve jackson of all blame. the blight on his character that he could've been responsible for his own death will now be removed from the mind of any fan. "Michael is innocent. Conrad Murray murdered him" they'll say. And they'll sleep soundly in their beds at night knowing their hero died an innocent, childlike imp.

The truth is that murray was greedy and unprofessional and got what he deserved. Jackson was just as guilty, if not more, than him and yet this verdict will be used to absolve jackson of all sin.

Just one question. Had Murray been a drug dealer, not legally licensed, would he  have been charged with distribution of illegal/unprescribed naroctics? On the flip side, do drug dealers get charged with manslaughter if one of their junkies OD?
