    Melodic Rock online, are reporting that that the vintage American hard rockers have cancelled their planned 2012 Summer Tour of Europe before the dates were even announced. The dates include what would have been an appearance at Download on the Sunday of the festival.

The article reveals that, "because planning was so far along for the tour - the dates and venues were already locked in. There has been no reason given to promoters for the cancellation. Simply that it was not going to go ahead."

The cancelled dates were:

The Prodigy To Be Third Download Headliners

he Prodigy are to be the third headliners for next year’s Download Festival.

They be the main attraction on Friday, June 8, with Metallica headlining the next night and finally the reunited Black Sabbath on the final night.

Weekend tickets, inclusive of camping, go on sale from 9am on Friday, November 18 at www.downloadfestival.co.uk

Metallica sure does love the U.S. First they play Master of Puppets in Europe 5 years ago and now its the Black Album in full in Europe again. Be a good idea to have a tour in the United States and play ...And Justice For All in its entirety. I would buy a ticket for that.

Soundgarden, Little Angels Confirmed For Download


Soundgarden and Little Angels are among the latest batch of bands just confirmed for this year’s Download Festival.

It will be the grunge heroes’ first live show here since their reunion last year. And Little Angels will be reuniting to play the festival as well. The band split in 1994.
