Personally i favour the silent but deadly.

Whilst the probability of an awful smell is low, the sense of accomplishment is high, annoyance is very high and, crucially, the probability of shitting yourself is very low.

And, hell, even if you do - who's gonna know?

Depends on the situation:

If with the gf, a Silent but Deadly might be useful - and just spill a drink so she has to run away.

If with the lads, either a high-pitcher (which can result in a pass-thru also known as a shart) or a Long Trumpet.
