i was reading about the guitarist from beasts of satan the other day

his girlfriend found out that he'd been killing people in ritual sacrifices, so he shot her in the face.

Yeah, his name was Andrea Volpe. I didnt find it funny... i thought it was sick. He killed the girlfriend of the lead singer because "she reminded him of the virgin mary," then the lead singer tried to stop him so he bludgeoned him to death with a hammer. Then a few years later he shot his own girlfriend, mutilated her body and buried her while she was still alive because she knew too many of his secrets. He was arrested last year...

I didnt used to like it.... but i've gotten over that..... people who bash on it for being (just noise) or whatever are just being blind, or are only hearing the shiity black metal bands.... which are the most popular ones  

amazing black metal - Character by Dark Tranquillity, despite its ruthlessness  and heaviness this is literaly the most beautiful album i've ever heard... not just awesome and heavy... but truly beautiful, there is so much melody to be heard underneath it... but dont fall for the shiity bands that give black metal a bad name

 exactly... and those are just the shiity black metal bands i was talking about... good black metal doesnt have to have anything to do with "evil".... my all time favorite black metal album "Character.. by Dark Tranquillity" is a concept album about technology taking over our lives.... but like i said in my previous post.... its the most beautiful album i've ever heard

if you buy one of their albums, get "character" their newest album... it blows anything in the genre away

i should probably check them out,i'm seeing them live on the 3rd of december in glasgow, they're supporting chimaira, i've never really heard anything by them before, should be fun though

are they heavy as fuck? that's all i'm really looking for from a band supporting chimaira, they don't even need to by good, just loud

They arent really overly heavy actually, they're pretty melodic, but some of their songs are pretty devastating though, they have 2 great guitar players, and the singer is my favorite black metal singer in the world, he's great

basically Dark Tranquillity are the gothenburg swedish style, melodic deeath metal, its very technical as well
