yeah, squier strat should really be everyone's first electric, they shouldn't let people buy anythig else until they've owned one, i still use my old one occasionally coz i actually quite like the sound of it

The sound of a Strat is something you can get enjoyment out of when you get bored of a heavy-weight.

Washburn acoustics are apparently quite good from what I hear.

Don't buy anything from squier they're complete shit!!  Ibanez and epihone make some decent lower range guitars that are loads better. Or just save for a real Fender.

She can't even play the guitar yet...so there's no point in hell buying a Fender.

A cheap Ibenez or Epiphone Les Paul Special II will be good enough.

Epiphone Les Paul Special II - £129.00

Has a very sweet tone for such a cheap guitar.

I suggest that you buy an (don't knw the name in english) old Ibanez RG. Two of my friends who are quite new on playing guitar owns this guitar and they both love the guitar. I also like this guitar it's cheap, great and easy to play on. But I dont know maybe it's to expensive, but you can always find someone selling an old one. (I find out that I'm really bad at writing in english ) :P

My friend had one too, and he got fucked with that, the tremolo is a floyd LICENSE and its a piece of crap... He had to use extra springs, becuse the tremlo kept lifting up, and the guy was using 8 gauge stringsets... and he wasn't using the tremolo like an animal... Don't buy an Ibanez. One year and you can throw the whole goddamn thing into the garbage can. And (like every guitar equipped with a floyd style tremolo) the tone suffers, because the Floyd construction doesn't resonate the guitar's body like a fixed bridge or a vintage style tremolo. I have an Epi Les Paul, with great tone, and it rocks, and I have a Fender Strat (mexican) which sounds exactly like the american one. I love them. These axes are 'bout four-five hundred bucks, so if you're running low on budget, a Squier would be considerable.

Sorry, i have to correct something. Don't buy a CHEAP Ibanez. Pricier ones are great axes.

And you can say, that on the Strats, you'll never use the tremolo, 'cause it gets the whole goddamn thing seriously outta tune. Well, that's right, but you can help it. You can get locking tuners for 60 bucks, OR if you're broke you can just put some graphite on the nut, in the places of the string. And it helps. Doesnt solve the problem, but you won't sound like shit whenever you touch the tremolo by accident.
