All the children's books in the world won't make his victims any less dead. Not to mention the thousands of inner city deaths derived from gang violence spread by his crips gang. If you want to make an arguement aginast the death penalty in general, you might have some valid points, but this guy was charged, convicted. sentenced and exhausted over twenty appeals. He's had a fair shake. The implications of Tookie's case could set precedent that all you have to do in death row is appeal until you can get some kid's books out and show that you're a better person, and the law will somehow be void in your case. What if Ted Bundy had written children's books? The best lesson Tookie can teach innercity youth, is to take responsibility for your actions and face the consequences with dignity.

Hey...fuck that bastard.  From the way he killed and celebrated their deaths plus what he has to do with that gang which is responsable for even more deaths the scumbag deserved to die.

He never even said sorry at all about what he did. Innocent man my ass.

summarised version, he was at the top of the crips, got done for murders (4 i think) appealed a load of times, did a lot of community work, said he was reformed, got nominated for the nobel peace prize about 5 times, published some childrens books, found god, the usual prison stuff

then california killed him

i'm not gonna express too much opinion in this coz i can't be assed with another death penalty, good or bad debate

Last time I looked he was protesting his innocence.
It would be contradictory to say "Hey I'm sorry for what I didn't do in the first place, y'all !"

And the only person who could verify that he did it had a viable motive to lie against him.

It amazes me how some people (led by celebrities) rush to the defense of murderers and tyrants.

The case became the state's highest-profile execution in decades. Hollywood stars and capital punishment foes argued that Williams' sentence should be commuted to life in prison because he had made amends by writing children's books about the dangers of gangs and violence.

In the days leading up to the execution, state and federal courts refused to reopen his case. Monday, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger denied Williams' request for clemency, suggesting that his supposed change of heart was not genuine because he had not shown any real remorse for the countless killings committed by the Crips.

"Is Williams' redemption complete and sincere, or is it just a hollow promise?" Schwarzenegger wrote. "Without an apology and atonement for these senseless and brutal killings, there can be no redemption."

Williams was condemned in 1981 for gunning down convenience store clerk Albert Owens, 26, at a 7-Eleven in Whittier and killing Yen-I Yang, 76, Tsai-Shai Chen Yang, 63, and the couple's daughter Yu-Chin Yang Lin, 43, at the Los Angeles motel they owned. Williams claimed he was innocent.

Well hes dead now, Im not against the death penalty when its been proven beyond a reasonable doubt a person is guilty, I dont think pedaphiles can be reformed or violent rapists or serial  murderers, when you cross a certain boundary you just cant turn back. However in this instance he is convicted of a murder robbery, and how many white people have been convicted of the same exact crime and yet get a life sentence or even parolled. Thats really the issue.
