Here is a plausible explanation for this (based solely on my speculation):

Geffen/Interscope, repeating a tactic unsuccessfully used in 2004, tell Axl GH2 is coming out b/c CD has not been finished yet.  Limited promotion begins (such as placement on Amazon's site).  Slash, as a co-owner of GN'R's back-catalog, is informed.  Slash is later informed that GH2 is cancelled.  Naturally, he questions why.  Geffen/Interscope tell him...

Again, this is based solely on speculation.  But it is plausible.  It is also plausible that Slash is talking out of his ass.

Like I said at jarmos, I think the reason slash could know is because GH2 is not going to be released. I think geffen could have given Axl a deadline and said if u dont have a release date by march then we are putting it out. That is how slash could know.

Ive heard Slash say nice things about Axl before. After Live 8, I saw an interview with him on Channel 4's Teletext where he said he knew nothing about the status of CD, but he said that anything Axl does is very good on some level and he was sure that CD would be no different. Hope its true! thanks for the info BP!

Well, looks like SlashÂs purpose is done! He has stired up the rumors and fucked with GNR fans heads! He is only laughing at you. He knew what was going to happen when he said what he said. He says theres no bad blood between him and Axl..? Right we all heard Axls speaches during the last tour not very amicable.

Anyways..I dont believe him. HeÂs self promoting and trying to mess with GNR fans who stuck with Axl.
