this is funny as i know very well who made that clip.
its sourced from the Bonus dvd of the official Hollwood Rose-CD japanese release. on the original bonus disc there is chris weber talking all over the video. so to get music on it some fan overdubbed it with the official cd audio. and now some dude re-edited it with the flyers and uploaded it on metal-sludge. but the synching was done before that \m/

we have a GREAT Hollywood Rose related topic compiled by "Dark Globe" here:

What a trip!  He must have been no more than 24-25 years old.  They (Metal Sludge) say Slash is in the video.  That is inaccurate.

Just based on that video it sure seems like he totally changed the way he "danced" or rocked out when GN'R formed.

I got to admit that knee and hip shake he does in the video is kind of weird.

Its the way Vince Neil used to shake it in the early early Crue days.

Limulus - Thanks for the props, but that post was compiled by both you and I.  You deserve as much credit, if not more, than I do.

Rock Diva - The actual clip is officially released, so I don't think it can be posted on this forum.  But if I were you, I'd head over to www.metal-sludge.com as they are apparantly hosting it despite the law.

PS - that "photo of a random radio casette" is actually an original copy of the Rose demo with the label written by Axl himself.

Hahaha that was painfully hilarious.
I wonder if they ever got signed, and who the muppet that signed them was.

Hollywood Rose broke up at the end of the summer of 1984 when Axl joined L.A. Guns and Izzy joined London.  They briefly reunited in December 1984, but quickly shifted the line-up to include Axl's former L.A. Guns bandmates and changed their name to Guns N' Roses.  Hollywood Rose was never signed (until Chris Weber released the HR album in 2004, that is).

Dark Globe, could you please tell me, when Rose became Hollywood Rose? I got a bit confused, as I have some show dates but I don't know what band exactly played them. thanks

Yeah.  Just to be clear, they are the same band.  Rose found out in 1984 that an east coast band (possibly from NY) also named Rose had gotten signed.  They started advertising themselves as "Hollywood" Rose to make the distinction.  Plus, Axl preferred that name over Rose.  Eventually, they just adopted Hollywood Rose as their official name.

As far as I can tell, the band started making the Hollywood distinction by March 16, 1984.  The band was still officially called Rose as late as April 20, 1984.  By June 16, 1984, they were dubbing themselves "The New Hollywood Rose," suggesting that the official name change had been completed.

gnrontour and heretodaygonetohell are pretty good resources for piecing this stuff together.  So are the recent Chris Weber interviews, one of which can be found at http://web.telia.com/~u43120602/mfintervju146.html.
